Delay the anger

Seneca's practical remedy for anger is delay. The first heat is not yet a verdict about what the other person meant. Wait, and the story often gets smaller. The card is a paraphrase, so the English is a translator's, not a Latin sentence you can treat as a measurement. Saying a translation is faithful is itself a judgement: faithful to which sentence, and by whose standard? Use the delay as a pause before you name a motive.
