CritThinker (critthinker.com) is a critical-thinking practice. For privacy questions, email sourcing@critthinker.com.

You do not need an account. Without one, your progress stays in this browser, on this device. We do not receive it.

If you create an account, we store only:

• your email address, so we can recognise the account when you sign in with your password
• your learning results: answers and attempts, levels, streaks, the daily helper, Mastery Test results, Certificate status, saved paths, favourites, reminder settings, and the other practice you keep in the app

If you take the CT Test, we store your answers, timings and any confidence ratings with your account, to check and improve the test. We don't collect age or other demographic details.

We do not collect your name, age, location or payment details. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising. A short label taken from your email is stored only because the sign-in system requires one. We do not ask you for a name.

We keep the account so we can provide the service you asked for, and so we can keep that sign-in secure. That is our basis under UK GDPR: a contract with you for the account, and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure.

The account is stored in this app’s database. We do not use a separate email provider: there is no sign-in code to send. The database may process data outside the UK, with the safeguards the host provides.

We keep the account until you delete it. You can delete it at any time from your account page, and the saved progress goes with it. The same page has “Download my data”, which saves a JSON file of what we hold.

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. Email sourcing@critthinker.com. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

The app uses your browser’s local storage so it can work, and a sign-in cookie if you sign in. There are no tracking cookies.

CritThinker accounts are for people aged 13 and over.
